Mike was the CEO of the Windley Ely group of companies, a company he and Jeff purchased in 2013. During his tenure as CEO, the organization increased revenue by over 400% and increased enterprise value by over 500%.
Michael was responsible for rebuilding the sales team, increasing partner channel results and rolling out two new business lines that now contribute 20% to overall revenue. Additionally he drove the purchase and integration of 3 competitors to establish WE as the unrivaled leader in Canadian workers’ compensation claims management.
Mike is also Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of Globalfaces Direct, where he ran point on the transaction and diligence, then rolled up his sleeves to assist in operating the business while supporting the integration of a new CEO into the business.
Mike has been responsible for building up the financial and back-office support teams, including HR and Data Analytics teams to prepare for significant long-term expansion. Additionally he has taken over management of the business development team and driven it to increase US clients from 1 client at time of purchase up to 8 clients one year later.
Prior to Windley Ely, Michael was in the mergers and acquisitions group of TD Bank, where he advised on over $5 billion in transactions across multiple industries. He was particularly valuable in the sale of Arctic Glacier Inc. out of CCAA to a US Private Equity firm for 30% more than originally expected. Mike spent 3 months in Winnipeg at AGI HQ assisting the finance and C-level teams complete the transaction.
Mike holds an MBA from the Ivey School of Business and a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Waterloo, majoring in Physics with a minor in Economics.
